Audit report and ROI

The audit report is a deeper version of the executive report. It includes the ROI calculation — what Nagata found, what the gross value of acting on it is, and how that compares to the cost of the product.

These are stored per-workspace, so you only need to set them once.

The ROI calculation

Nagata shows both a lower bound and an upper bound for gross value:

  • Lower bound = savings Nagata's rules actually identified
  • Upper bound = identified savings + (unaudited spend × waste assumption %)

Why two numbers? The lower bound is what the rules found with certainty. The upper bound estimates additional recoverable waste in spend the rules didn't specifically flag. Showing both lets you present a conservative number when you need to be defensible.

Net value = Gross value − Product cost

ROI multiple = Net value ÷ Product cost

Payback months = Product cost ÷ (accepted savings per month)

Payback uses only accepted savings (from completed recommendations). This makes it defensible — it only counts money your team has actually recovered.
