Nagata extracts the business-critical fields from your software contracts — renewal date, notice deadline, contract value, seat count, and auto-renewal status — so you don't have to read them manually.
Supported file types
- PDF — preferred. Text-based PDFs (not scanned images) extract best.
- DOCX — Word documents work well for standard contract formats.
Maximum file size: 25 MB per document.
How to upload a contract
- Go to Contracts → Upload in the left sidebar.
- Click Choose file and select your PDF or DOCX.
- Click Upload.
- Once uploaded, click Run extraction to have Nagata read the document.
You can upload multiple contracts — each one is processed separately.
Reviewing extracted fields
After extraction, Nagata shows you each field it found along with a confidence score:
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Vendor name | The counterparty on the contract |
| Renewal date | When the contract auto-renews or expires |
| Term start / Term end | Contract effective dates |
| Notice period | Days before renewal you must give notice |
| Contract value | Total or annual value in USD |
| Auto-renewal | Whether the contract auto-renews without action |
| Seat count | Number of licensed seats, if specified |
Confidence scores run from 0 to 100%. Fields below 70% are flagged as needing review.
Confirming and correcting fields
Any field can be edited directly:
- Click the field you want to change.
- Type the correct value.
- Click Save.
Low-confidence fields don't count as confirmed until a human saves them. Only confirmed fields feed the renewal calendar and alerts.
Common problems
Scanned contracts extract poorly — if your PDF is a scanned image, use OCR software to convert it first.
Encrypted / password-protected PDFs are rejected — remove the password before uploading.
The wrong vendor name was extracted — edit it to match your spend CSV vendor name so renewals link correctly.
